Ceramic field: It is a commonly used additive in ceramic production. In daily-use ceramics and sanitary ware, it is mainly used for high-temperature opacified glazes. The addition amount in daily-use ceramics is 8%-12%, and in sanitary ware is 8%-14%. It can improve the hardness and glossiness of the glaze surface, and enhance wear resistance and chemical corrosion resistance. In glazed interior wall tiles, it is used for cosmetic soil and zirconium white frit, with a content of 4%-10% and 10%-12% respectively, which can increase whiteness and adjust the expansion coefficient. In porcelain polished tiles, the content reached 3%-5% when used in ultra-white bricks in the early days. Later, due to radioactive problems, enterprises generally reduced the amount to 1%-2%, but the amount added in some ultra-white line points can reach 3%-5%. In addition, 1% zirconium silicate or zircon powder is also added to glass products to increase stability.

Electronic materials field: It has the characteristics of high-frequency response, high Q value and low loss, and can be used to manufacture microwave electronic components, such as high-Q value resonators, filters, etc.
Other areas: Zirconium silicate can also be used in some cements as beads for grinding and grinding; zirconium silicate and hafnium silicate films produced by chemical vapor deposition (CVD) technology can be used as high dielectric constant materials in semiconductors to replace silicon dioxide; its compounds are also being studied for medical applications, for example ZS-9 is a zirconium silicate specially designed to capture potassium ions in the digestive tract.
