Its Mohs hardness is 7-8, its specific gravity is 4.6-4.7, its melting point is as high as 2550℃, its decomposition point is 1550℃, and its thermal expansion coefficient is 4.5×10⁻⁶. These properties give zirconium silicate good chemical stability, it is insoluble in water and acid, and it is not easy to react chemically with other substances under normal conditions.
